Working with clay allows me to reflect on the connections I have made with people and places through prolific experiences. My recent work projects my vigorous training as a Leach Potter back in 2017. I am always striving to make well-crafted pieces focusing on function and aesthetic exploration. I treat my forms as canvases with a variety of different decorating techniques such as repeated brush-stroke patterns, glaze trailing, wax resist, and spoon glazing. I love how clay cultivates community within home settings, events, and the restaurant industry.
Currently I am based in Portland, OR where I have started Culp Pottery just outside City Center. Crafting fine handmade tableware in a high fired reduction atmosphere using traditional glazes is Culp Pottery's mission. Decorative and statement works will be in process alongside the main production.   Â
